Gary Venn
Gary has always been a keen drawer, and is enjoying a successful career as a professional illustrator. Organic mark making and texture is the main focus in both his commercial work and personal artwork.
When doing work outside of the commercial illustration scene, Gary likes to take things back to the basics, producing work in pencil or ink, or occasionally using print- making techniques.
For this mural Gary was inspired by mediaeval woodblock printing, painting much of the details with a small brush to give it that illustrative feel. One of the critters depicted is said to resemble artist and Boon co-founder, Pauly B!
Another local, this is Gary’s first mural.
