The Boon Street Art Festival 2020 continued its mission to enliven Hamilton’s urban landscape through large-scale, accessible public art. Over several days in November, the festival brought new energy to the city with vibrant murals that celebrated storytelling, cultural identity, and community connection.
Among the standout artists in the 2020 festival included Aotearoa-based creatives Kieran Horner, Poihakena Ngawati, Hana Maihi, Kelly Spenser, Michael Moore, and Erika Pearce, joined by international artists Tony Diaz from California and Peter Robinson from Seattle. Murals were brought to life across key Hamilton locations, including The Meteor Theatre, Sentinel House on Victoria Street, Clarence Street Theatre, the YWCA building, and Victoria on the River.
